This is something that I wrote a little over a year ago. It is entitled "A Lutheran Perspective: the ELCA's 'Church and Human Sexuality'". It is a response to the first draft of the proposed statement on human sexuality by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The ELCA has since released a second draft. Also, I am no longer in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Nonetheless, much of mainline Christianity is dealing with the matter of human sexuality. Considering this fact, there are many issues raised that need to be addressed. It seems to me that this particular document might be useful for all Christians who are in communions dealing with the matter of human sexuality. I hope that it will be thought-provoking.
